Heads of UOC-KP, UGCC, UAOC and RCC in Ukraine to Lead Memorial Service for Victims of Holodomor
On the last Saturday of November, Ukraine remembers the victims of the Holodomor genocide of 1932-1933. On the Day of Remembrance of Victims of the Holodomor, on November 27, memorial events will be held in all the regional centers of Ukraine. The Day of Remembrance of Victims of the Holodomor will also be widely marked abroad. The memorial events in Kyiv will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a procession to the National Memorial of Holodomor Victims, where the heads of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, and Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine will serve a memorial service.
At 4 p.m., a national minute of silence will be announced. The Ukrainians are also called to light candles of memory in their windows. The memorial events are organized by the Public Committee on Honoring the Memory of Victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, reported news.liga.net.
The public committee invited all the past and present presidents of Ukraine, heads of diplomatic representative offices of other countries, and representatives of public organizations and political parties to participate in the memorial events in Kyiv. Everyone is called to participate in under national flags and black ribbons without the use of party symbols.
