Former world champion in three divisions and Olympic champion in boxing in 2008 and 2012, Vasyl Lomachenko is included in the Register of State Traitors maintained by the CHESNO movement.

The boxer was added to the Register because of his publication in the Instagram video of a sermon by Metropolitan Longin, Bishop of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate.

In his sermon, Longin says that "the Ukrainian state has started a war against God, against the Church of the Lord and against the Ukrainian people," which is one of the key narratives of Russian propaganda regarding a number of SBU searches in the premises of the Moscow Patriarchate.

In his comment to the video, Lomachenko calls on subscribers to "show how faithful they are to our heavenly Father and the Mother Church, whether we are truly Orthodox, and whether we truly believe in God, and how devoted we are to Him."

According to Lomachenko, "a true Orthodox will prove himself in the most difficult moment for our Church."

After a wave of criticism in the comments, Lomachenko made another post with a key message: "Whoever has ears to listen, let him listen. Everyone has ears, but not everyone has ears to listen to."

Earlier in December, Lomachenko published a photo of Metropolitan Luka of Zaporizhia and Melitopol of the UOC-MP, on whom the National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions.

"Publicity imposes certain social obligations on athletes because they are idols of our children and influence the younger generation's opinion. It is hard to believe that the stars of our sports cannot independently determine who has been fighting with whom for almost nine years, who started the war, and who is a terrorist state. This is already a human position. The spread of fake Russian propaganda harms our country no less than missiles and Shaheds," said Vita Dumanska, leader of the CHESNO movement.

Ex-football player and coach Anatoly Tymoshchuk found himself in the Register of State Traitors for being silent on the Russian aggression.

As for the Moscow Patriarchate, the CHESNO Movement put priests in a separate category. Some of them were also politicians. In particular, Volodymyr Udovenko was a people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Russian Federation.

Many politicians are associated with the Moscow Patriarchate — Vadym Novinsky, Mykhailo Dobkin and others.
