Never before had we seen such a Christmas tree: director of "Folk Ukraine" comments on the Christmas style of the current holidays in Kyiv

This was stated on Public Radio by the founder and director of the company "Folk Ukraine" Igor Dobrutsky.

"There will be no fair this year, but there will be a skating rink, lots of hot drinks and light food because barbecues and other appliances will not be able to cook food due to coronavirus restrictions. The theme will be Nativity – the birth of Jesus. In this style, the Christmas tree will be decorated. Let's try to set up a new location – opposite the Verkhovna Rada in Mariinsky Park. We will also arrange locations on the Peoples' Friendship Arch, Shevchenko Park, Kontraktova square, VDNH – there will be many locations throughout the city, as well as a residence with attractions of 800 square meters outside the city in Dobropark," he says.

Dobrutsky says that the Christmas tree this year will be larger, as well as the number of toys and garlands on it. It will traditionally open on December 19 at 17.

"We don't know what the top will be – angels, a star or something else. It will be a surprise. I promise that there has never been such a Christmas tree before in the world. Although last year we entered the top five Christmas trees in Europe, now we have crossed the border of quantity to quality," says the director of Folk Ukraine.

According to him, there will be no stage or concert in the square. The Christmas tree and decorations will cost 25-27 million hryvnias – they are provided by sponsors and organizers.
