Patriarch Kirill of ROC threatens Patriarch Bartholomew with Last Judgment
Head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, wrote an emotionally charged message to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on December 30, in which he demands that Ukraine is not granted the Tomos.
The letter of the Russian Patriarch was distributed via the Telegram channel "Tserkvach", according to TSN.
According to the comment by the channel author, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church gives in the letter his version of recent events concerning the Ukrainian autocephaly, just as the scandalous Russian anchor Dmitriy Kiselev in the Vesti Nedeli program would do.
“The association of the schismatics with the Church might have been a great joy for all the Orthodox of Ukraine ... But the current politicized process is far from the rules and spirit of the holy canons being accompanied by a terrible accumulation of lies, and now even violence against the true Ukrainian Orthodox Church," goes the letter.
“At the so-called “local council,” which was convened by you and led by the three persons, including your representative, the self-appointed patriarch (now called an “honorary” patriarch) and the secular head of the Ukrainian state, only two of the 90 bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were present, i.e. what you call the “local council” was the assembly of schismatics under the umbrella of the name of the Holy Church of Constantinople,” Kirill made such charges to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The head of the ROC demands that Bartholomew stop communicating with the “schismatics” and abandon “the political scheme of their legalization.”
He is referring, in particular, to the honorable Patriarch Filaret, who was the head of the UOC-KP, and whom Moscow considers to be a “schismatic”.
Otherwise, Patriarch Kirill threatens the Head of the Constantinople Church with the Last Judgment.
Earlier, Bartholomew laughed at Moscow's accusation of bribe-taking in exchange of Ukrainian autocephaly.
