Patriarch Kirill: Russians are experiencing a period of great prosperity and should thank God for everything Russia is doing today
In his sermon last Sunday at Prince Vladimir's Church in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Patriarch Kirill, leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, spoke passionately about the remarkable prosperity currently experienced by Russian citizens. He urged the faithful to express gratitude to the Almighty, particularly for the nation's current leadership.
A notable excerpt from his "stirring address" has surfaced online:
"At times, you might find yourself thinking: ‘Lord, is this real? An Orthodox president, Orthodox prime minister, Orthodox governors, Orthodox educators, and school leaders!’ What more could we ask for? We thank the Lord for all this! For His compassion towards the older generation, allowing us to witness such times, and for the younger and middle-aged citizens who are experiencing this era! This is a blessing from above. Therefore, we owe our gratitude to God for the country in which we reside and, candidly, for the government guided by Orthodox individuals — something we haven't seen since the days of the tsars! — and certainly for all that Russia is accomplishing today!"
