RCC hierarch Jan Sobilo: The worst thing is to survive the night when you don't know where it will hit

On the night of October 18, Zaporizhia was shelled, but most of the missiles and drones were shot down by air defense forces.

Jan Sobilo, assistant bishop of the Diocese of Kharkiv-Zaporizhia, stated this in a comment for CREDO.

"We are already finding ways to destroy what the enemy is trying to harm us with so as not to allow us to live in peace. There is also hope that the front line will move towards Russia in the Zaporizhia direction, and our soldiers will gradually expel the invaders. The city of Energodar and the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant are the most difficult places. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the war, it was completely unprotected, the Russians quickly entered its territory, and now we have a big problem with how to smoke them out. However, there is hope that our guys will still find an opportunity to take control of Energodar and connect the power plant. In general, it is very difficult and scary here now because shelling is constantly continuing — especially at night. Many people go to the country, to the country, to spend the night and then return to work in the city because the worst thing is to survive the night in Zaporizhia when you do not know where it will hit. Not all buildings have bomb shelters, so many people — even those who did not want to leave the city — now plan to go to the west of the country or further to Europe, especially those who have children," the Bishop said.

On the morning of October 18, the Invaders once again fired rockets at Kharkiv.

According to preliminary information, the area of one of the city's industrial enterprises was under attack; the city metro was also temporarily suspended.

The Russians also damaged the energy infrastructure of Dnipro — they were reported to hit twice an energy infrastructure facility, causing serious damage.

At about 06.30 am, terrorist forces hit the northern part of Kryvyi Rih. The enemy destroyed a residential building in Mykolayiv with C-300. A man was killed. There was also a blow to the flower market, Chestnut Square.

"They continue to do what they know best – terrorize and kill civilians," says the bishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine.

In his Twitter, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that since October 10, 30% of Ukrainian power plants have been destroyed, which led to massive power outages throughout the country. "There is no room left for negotiations with the Putin regime," the head of state wrote.
