“Russian World” has nothing to do with Christianity, the expert believes
“Russian World” has nothing to do with Christianity, the concept of “Russian World”relates exclusively to territorial claims of the imperial system.
Jose Casanova, professor at the Department of Sociology at Georgetown University, head of the Berkley Center's Program on Globalization, Religion and the Secularwas reported as saying this in an interview to DT.ua
According to him, the Moscow Patriarchate “conceives Russia's policy as the only alternative to the decadence of liberal Europe”
“We see what happens when the Moscow Patriarchate becomes the only official legitimate organization in Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk. Crimean Tatars, Greek Catholics, Protestants and parishioners of the Kyiv Patriarchate face problems. That conflict is not religious, but religion plays a huge role in it because of the coinciding interests of the two projects - the imperial state project “Russia” and the religious canonical one of the MP who claims to be the so-called “Russian World,” said Casanova.
