Pope Francis met with the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations at the Vatican on January 25.

In the presence of Ukrainian religious leaders, the head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav, presented the Pope with lists of captured doctors, which were handed to him the day before by representatives of the venerable Council of the Order of St. Panteleimon.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"I also thanked the Pope for his letter to the Ukrainian people, his spiritual closeness with our martyr people, humanitarian solidarity and international support for Ukraine.

His Holiness assured that he is with us in an attempt to free prisoners and political prisoners and confirmed that he prays for Ukraine every day," the message reads.

The AUCCRO is on an official visit to the Apostolic capital from January 24 to 26. The program includes an audience with Holy Father Francis, Cardinal Parolin, the Secretary of state of the Holy See, and the heads of various competent dicasteries.

On January 25, members of the delegation will also participate in an ecumenical prayer performed by Pope Francis on the occasion of the end of the week of prayers for Christian unity.

The main purpose of the AUCCRO's visit is to inform the Holy Father and the leaders of the Roman Curia about the situation in Ukraine and to establish cooperation with the Holy See in the field of ecumenical and interreligious dialogue.

Yesterday, representatives of the AUCCRO visited the pro-cathedral of St. Sophia in Rome.
