The Head of the UGCC began a pastoral visit to Canada

On January 18, in Saskatoon, representatives of the clergy and monastic community of the Saskatoon Eparchy, including Bishop-nominee Mykhailo Smolynsky and Father Ivan Nahachevsky, as well as students and teachers of the Ukrainian bilingual program at Bethlehem Catholic High School, welcomed the Head of the UGCC.
On January 19, at 18:30 local time (January 20, 2:30 Kyiv time), the Rite of Episcopal Nomination and Great Vespers began at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Saskatoon, led by the bishop-nominee. This service was broadcast on "Live Television" on January 20 at 9:00 Kyiv time.
On January 20, at 10:00 local time (18:00 Kyiv time), the Archeparchial Divine Liturgy with the episcopal ordination of Father Mykhailo took place at the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral.
On January 21, at 10:00 during the Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint George, His Beatitude Sviatoslav carried out the enthronement of the sixth bishop of the Saskatoon Eparchy. The episcopal ordination and enthronement were broadcast live on "Live Television" on January 20 and 21 at 18:00 Kyiv time, respectively.

On January 22, the Patriarch will meet with the clergy of the Saskatoon Eparchy, and on January 23, he will visit the Bishop Vasyl Filevych School with a bilingual education program, where among 270 students, many are newly arrived Ukrainian children.
