The Holy Synod of the UOC (MP) made changes in personnel and restructured a number of church agencies
On September 16, a meeting of the Holy Synod of the UOC was held under the presidency of Metropolitan Onyfriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine in the Synodal Hall of the residence of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
According to the published synodal resolutions, Metropolitan Feodor of Kamyanets-Podilsky and Horodok was appointed Chairman of the ecclesiastical court of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
Archbishop Meletiy of Khotyn was appointed ruling bishop of the Diocese of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna.
The Synod appointed Archimandrite Evseviy (Dudka) the Bishop of Khotyn, vicar of the Diocese of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna. The nomination and consecration of Archimandrite Eusebius as Bishop of Khotyn, Vicar of the Diocese of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna will be held in Kyiv.
Bishop Alypiy (Pogrebnyak) was appointed Bishop of Krasnolymansk, Vicar of the Diocese of Horlivka.
The Holy Synod of the UOC (MP) also appointed clergyman of the Diocese of Odessa Archimandrite Victor (Bykov) to the office of Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Odessa. The nomination and consecration of Archimandrite Victor (Bykov) to episcopate will take place in Kiev.
An office of vicar Bishop was also set up in the UOC (MP) diocese of Khust. The Synod appointed Bishop Anthony (Borovik) the Bishop of Uhol, Vicar of the Diocese of Khust.
The Holy Synod of the UOC (MP) addressed the issue of reorganizing the synodal institutions of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Metropolitan Culture Council, chaired by Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine was set up. The structure of the Metropolitan Culture Council includes the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church ‘Mission ‘Church and Culture”. The Synodal Enlightenment Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was also established and archpriest George Kovalenko was appointed its chairman.
The Synodal Information and Enlightenment Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was transformed into the Synodal Information Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Bishop Klyment of Irpin, Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis was appointed Chairman of the Synodal Information Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
To organize and support social initiatives the Social and Humanitarian Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was formed, chaired by archpriest Vladislav Dyhanov.
The Department for Philanthropy and Social Service was restructured, being transferred under jurisdiction of the Social and Humanitarian Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The functions of the Committee on Bioethics and Ethical Issues were attributed to the competence of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Health Protection and Pastoral Care of Medical Facilities.
The issue of pastoral care of soldiers-internationalists falls within the jurisdiction of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Relations with the Armed Forces and Other Military Units of Ukraine.
