"There is no excuse for those who start wars," - Primate of the UOC-MP

"Today, our country is going through a time of difficult trials caused by the attack by the troops of the Russian Federation on our country. In all churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, intensive prayers for the speedy onset of peace and the cessation of bloodshed do not stop. We consistently call for a peaceful settlement of conflicts through dialogue, goes the statement dated March 10, which was shared by the official website of the UOC-MP.

Metropolitan Onufriy asked those responsible to arrange humanitarian corridors and evacuate civilians.

"To prevent even greater casualties and suffering of our people, we appeal to all those on whom it depends to provide real humanitarian corridors for the urgent evacuation of civilians from settlements located in the line of fire, and guarantee their safety," Metropolitan Onufriy stressed.

As RISU has previously reported, to date many parishes of the UOC-MP (Lviv, Cherkasy, Rivne, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mukachevo) have stopped commemorating Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church, some parishes of the UOC-MP started joining the OCU.
