UGCC military chaplains provide spiritual care to Antiterrorism Operation participants
Head of the Patriarchal Curia Department of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for Pastoral Care of the Law-enforcement agencies of Ukraine Mykhailo (Koltun) reported that military chaplains provide spiritual care to the Ukrainian soldiers fighting in Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
"The present time is important to understand how much the priests and military servicemen are in need one another. The situation implies it. The priests tell that death is not terrible for those who seek freedom", says Bishop Mykhailo.
The hierarch noted that in the area of Antiterrorism Operation in Eastern Ukraine there are local priests of the UGCC Exarchates of Donetsk and Kharkiv, entrusted with pastoral care of the military servicemen. However, there are also pastors from West Ukraine, who voluntarily perform their chaplain ministry, reports the Information Department of the UGCC.
