Russia, without coordinating with Ukraine, has transferred 11 Ukrainian prisoners of war of Hungarian origin to Hungary. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that they learned about this from the media. Ukraine is now requesting detailed information about the transferred individuals from Hungary and asking for consular access to them.

Oleh Nikolenko, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed this and emphasized that the Hungarian and Russian sides did not inform the Ukrainian government about their negotiations. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs became aware of the transfer of 11 individuals of Ukrainian-Hungarian origin from Moscow to Budapest through public statements made by the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, Zsolt Semjén.

Following this, a temporary representative of Hungary was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The Ukrainian side requested detailed information about the Ukrainian citizens and urged immediate consular access to them. The consul should assess the health status of the Ukrainian military personnel and provide them with consular assistance.

As previously reported, the Russian Orthodox Church transferred a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war to Hungary. The transfer took place at the initiative of the Hungarian side.

Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, Zsolt Semjén, confirmed that Russia transferred a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war from Zakarpattia to Hungary at Hungary's request on June 8.
