After the divine service the synaxis of hierarchs consecrated Archimandrite Alipii Kozoliy of the Diocese of Simferopol as a bishop.

The decision of electing father Alipii to the Dzhankoi cathedra was passed at the session of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of September 9, 2009, that convened at the Holy Dormition of the Kyiv Cave Monastery. That day at the Dormition Cathedral the rite of nomination of archimandrite Alipii Kozolii as bishop of Dzhankoi and Rozdolnensk was conducted.

According to the web site of the UOC-MP, the future bishop was born in the village of Kalynivka in the Kyiv region in 1971.  He received his theological education at the Odesa Theological Seminary. In 1993 he began his monastic profession. The same year he was ordained as a hierodeacon and later entered holy priesthood. Before his bishop ordination he bore obedience of the rector o the Church of the Holy and Equal-to-the Apostles Nina in the town of Gaspra (Autonomous Republic of the Crimea).

In accordance with the statute, this year the service of the Presentation of Our Lord was re-scheduled from Monday, February 15 to Sunday, February 14.

At the feast of the Presentation of Our Lord there is a tradition to bless the candles in the church. At the end of the Liturgy the primate performed the rite of blessing the candles.  The tradition to bless candles on the feast of the Presentation of Our Lord appeared in the Orthodox Church in the 17th century. The Presentation candles are kept all year long and are lit during the home prayer.
