The police believe that the situation at the cemetery emerged because many graves were neglected and were decaying as no one cared for them for a long time.

Pavlo Kozlenko, Odessa Holocaust Museum Director earlier reported the destruction of the Holocaust Memorial at the Jewish cemetery in the town of Savran. The police in this case believes that the memorial went to ruin by itself. According to the facts of both the police are checking.

In December 2016, the unknown desecrated the burial complex of Rabbi Nachman in Uman, Cherkasy region, – a group of young people broke into the synagogue on the territory of the cemetery, they doused the track and the wall space with red paint and left a pig's head with a swastika carved on it

The perpetrators are still on a wanted list. In January this year, the memorial complex “Bykivnya graves” near Kyiv were desecrated, vandals have not been found as well.
