Vatican Rep Inquires About Activity of Orthodox Media
The Administrator of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Archbishop Antonii (Pakanych) on May 22 met with President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli during his official visit to Ukraine. The participants of the meeting discussed forms of the church’s presence in the information space.
According to the website of the UOC-MP, the ministers in particular discussed questions of monitoring the information field by the public, communication of the clergy with various social groups outside their parishes, training of students of spiritual schools in social and information communication.
After the meeting, an excursion to the Kyiv Cave Monastery was organized for the archbishop and accompanying persons.
Archbishop Celli was accompanied by the head of the Information Department of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Fr. Ihor Yatsiv, and First Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Ukraine Fr. Viacheslav Tumir. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Synodal Information and Education Department of the UOC-MP. Protopriest Heorhii Kovalenko and Protopriest Mykolai Danylevych.
