Zelensky confers a state award on the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine
According to Ukrainska Pravda, he stated this on June 2 in the presence of foreign ambassadors in St Sofia of Kyiv.
The president presented state awards to ambassadors Cichocki and Archbishop Kulbokas for staying with Ukraine.
Zelensky stressed that many states should change their attitude towards Ukraine and perceive it as their partner and ally, and not as a "problematic and distant relative", as a great power, and not as a "large territory".
As RISU previously reported, Archbishop Viswaldas Kulbokas was in Kyiv in the first days of the broad-scale offensive. In the Nunciature, he moved with a backpack, "because you never know where you will be in a few seconds". Like most Ukrainians, he was able to get in touch when shells and missiles had a break.
