Ukrainian President Zelensky is visiting Washington. His itinerary includes attending a memorial service for Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the bill's authors and a significant supporter of Ukraine in Congress. This bill, which has broad bipartisan support, is expected to be discussed during his meeting with U.S. senators.

Volodymyr Zelensky shared information about the visit in his post.

“On behalf of all of Ukraine, we will honor the memory of Lindsey Graham. Together with everyone at the ceremony in Washington, we will remember his efforts to promote security and freedom in the Euro-Atlantic region and beyond,” the president stated.

According to Ukrinform, 100 members of the U.S. Senate have been invited to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This meeting is scheduled to take place at the Capitol on Tuesday, July 28, at 6:00 p.m. local time.

The meeting coincides with the Senate's deliberation on a bill aimed at imposing stricter sanctions against Russia and its trading partners in response to Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine.

Zelensky also intends to meet with President Donald Trump.

“On the agenda are discussions with President Trump, his team, and those who can support our defense efforts. Our number one priority is anti-ballistic defense and strategic cooperation with America,” Zelensky wrote.

The president emphasized that enhancing air defense and fostering closer cooperation with the U.S. are the top priorities of this trip.
