Adventists to Sue Newspaper for Being Called a Harmful Sect
KRYVYI RIH — Seventh-day Adventists demand false information posted in the Kryvy Rih’s newspaper Pulse to be refuted and are prepared to sue the newspaper to defend their reputation, reads an open letter to the editor of the newspaper, E. Stulii.
“Number 14 (091) of 7.04.2010 of the Kryvyi Rih’s newspaper ‘Pulse’ includes an article “The 10 Most Horrible Sects of the World” which includes false information about the Seventh-day Adventist Church,” reads the address of the head of the Eastern-Dnieper Conference of the Church of the Seventh-day Adventists, Oleksii Isakov.
The article, which is without a signature, the Adventists argue “mentions untrue facts which violate the rights and freedom of the believers, put to shame the name of the Adventist Church, and offend their dignity as Ukrainian citizens.”
“The Seventh-day Adventist Church is an officially registered religious organization in Ukraine and is not defined as a ‘sect’ – something the editors of your newspaper should be aware of,” reads the letter.
