Council of Churches Ready to Dialogue with Government to Correct Legislative Mistakes

The Secretariat of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations AUCCRO) analyzed possible ways to annul the negative alterations made to the Law of Ukraine “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations.”

The meeting on this problem was held on December 21, 2012, under the chairmanship of the head of the AUCCRO, Archbishop Grygoris Buniatian, the head of the Ukrainian Eparchy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Institute for Religious Freedom (IRF) reported.

The representatives of churches discussed the results of the last meeting of the working team on the preparation of bills in the area of the freedom of worship of the Ministry of Culture. They expressed their appreciation of the readiness of the ministry to further elaborate the legislative alterations in the constant dialogue with AUCCRO.
