Deputy director of Islamic Madrassah near Simferopol released
Deputy Director of the Islamic Madrasah in Kolchuhino village of Simferopol region in Crimea Ayder Osmanov was released in a few hours, reports Religion in Ukraine website with reference to Sobytiya.info.
After a five-hour search at the educational establishment the teacher was taken to the General Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Crimea, where he was questioned for over half hour. Then he was told that nothing suspicious was found in the Islamic school and was released.
Yesterday, on June 24, early in the morning, some unidentified masked men armed with machine guns broke into the Hafiz Madrassah of Kolchugino. At the time of assault 13 students and two teachers were in the premises of the Islamic school. All of them were asleep.
The militants got into the building, knocking out the front door and smashing a window. They did not present any ID, regulations or court decisions, authorizing the search, did not provide any explanations to the leadership of the institution. The search was performed by some 30 people, allegedly representatives and officers of the FSB of Russia.
They searched everything in the building, including personal items, books, and took away children’s mobile phones. Upon completion of the search, masked men seized several computers and took deputy director of the Madrassah Ayder Osmanov for interrogation. They gave no reason for their actions. The search lasted more than five hours.
Apart from the Madrassah, armed men came to a Crimean Tatar family with a search warrant.
