On October 10, Bishop Stepan Sus and rector of the Garrison Church of Lviv Fr. Taras Mykhalchuk, presented the Honorary Award "Golden Cross" of the UGCC Military Chaplaincy Center, to Ms. Tanya Bucierka, a medical volunteer from the United States.

"Thank you, dear Tanya, for your tireless service for the good of Ukraine. In your person, we thank all your friends in the United States who support the Defenders of Ukraine," noted Fr. Taras, who is also the head of the military chaplaincy Center in Lviv.

As he told RISU, Ms. Tanya has repeatedly collected aid from the United States and handed it over to the CEC. These funds were used to purchase tactical glasses and other necessary items. Now she has brought winter clothes and shoes for the military to Lviv, and some more will be purchased using the donations collected by her.

Nevertheless, the purpose of Tanya Bucierka 's visits to Ukraine was not only to transfer aid. As Tetiana told RISU, she came primarily as a volunteer medic.

"This was my third visit to Ukraine. I work with the American organization MedGlobal, where we help as doctors and train Ukrainian doctors. Thus, during the last visit, we worked in Ternopil, training local doctors, especially young specialists, to use modern portable ultrasound machines. Overall, such training was conducted for doctors from Kyiv and Lviv," says Tanya.

According to Fr. Taras Mykhalchuk, at one time, during a visit to the United States, Bishop Stepan Sus, who then headed the Center for Military Chaplaincy, met Tanya and encouraged her to cooperate. He notes that she invests primarily her own funds in the assistance and the visits to Ukraine.
