Pope ordered to send further aid to Ukraine

"Even when he was in the Agostino Gemelli Hospital, Pope Francis did not lack attention and closeness to the population of the Kherson region, which is suffering greatly," says Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, the Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.
On behalf of the Holy Father, he delivered a shipment of cleaning supplies, diapers, and long-lasting food products to the humanitarian center at the Cathedral of St. Sophia in Rome. From there, everything will be sent to Kherson.
Cardinal Krajewski, in an interview with Vatican media, revealed that 106 trucks of humanitarian aid have already been sent to Ukraine from St. Sophia's Cathedral. "These trucks are loaded with essential items, including hygiene products.
They also contain, among other things, tens of thousands of cans of tuna that people can open in times of greatest need.
"This is the 106th truck that has left the Greek-Catholic Church of St. Sophia, where, thanks to kind hearts and various organizations, as well as the Holy Father, we can load these trucks and send them promptly. We are grateful to the brave Ukrainian drivers who set out on these routes. Out of the 106 transport vehicles, all have arrived, despite the bombings and the threat to their lives," said Cardinal Krajewski in an interview with the Polish edition of Radio Vatican.
According to the Apostolic Almoner, another shipment consisting of 100,000 packages of fast-preparation food, which were donated to the Holy Father, will be sent next week. "This is very important assistance because where the dam was blown up, there is a lack of water and everything else, so this is the simplest way to help these people. A very large quantity of medicines collected in Naples will also be delivered.
Therefore, the Holy Father does not forget about Ukraine. He continuously prays and donates for its people, including his own sufferings related to a recent operation. He is actively present in Ukraine through the ministry of mercy," emphasizes Cardinal Konrad Krajewski.
