Ukrainian Association of Religious Freedom Concerned over Deterioration of Interdenominational Relations

On October 25, the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Association of Religious Freedom (UARF) expressed concern about the deterioration of interfaith relations because authorities favor one church and discriminate other denominations.

Experts also noted that the preparation of the new Law of Ukraine "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations" is taking part too privately and without discussion of its provisions by a wide range of stakeholders – representatives of churches and religious organizations, experts, and believers.

It should be noted that in April 2011 the Ukrainian Association of Religious Freedom will celebrate 10 years since its founding. The board of directors decided on this occasion to hold an anniversary conference and issue a booklet on the activities of the association.
