“War shapes us and empowers us to respond to it,” - Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine

While answering the question about the simplest aspects of his ministry, the Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine said: “I think it is a special grace of God to be close to people, especially in such a trying period of war, to hear their pain and share their suffering. At the same time, the most difficult thing is to share this experience with others.”

The Archbishop shared his opinion on the sources of resilience for Ukrainians: “War shapes us and empowers us to respond to it. I think that all the churches in Ukraine can cooperate even more closely than they do today,” said the representative of Pope Francis.

According to him, “There is no need to wait for decisions from above - each of us can start cooperation today.”

He cited the example of cooperation between chaplains of different denominations who find one church near the front and use it together.

“I see this as a deep realization of reality. We have one church for everyone and share it as brothers. I am sure that no one can defeat us when we are this united,” the Archbishop shared his thoughts.
